My friend, Andy Stock, owns a beautiful Mexican Retreat, Casa Simpático, in the state of Nayarit in Mexico. The town is located on the uppermost tip of the 30km. wide Mantanchen Bay, with Santa Cruz, in the south. Here is a link to Google Maps, that pinpoints the location of, Casa Simpático

In Andy's words, this place is no Cancun, it is the real Mexico, with the surrounding community, being the local hard working folks, like fishermen, waitresses, farmers, blue collar workers and small business owners. Simpático, is aptly named. It means charming or engaging.

Definitely, no swarm of tourists in this neck of the woods. The website, About Simpatico, has a detailed description of this beautiful waterfront property, which is about a 10 minute walk down the beach to Santa Cruz, in Mexico.

It describes the surrounding countryside, travel to the location, the use of water in the home for showers and daily use, useful numbers to call, maps, where to shop & resources that will equip you well during your stay at this retreat

My impression is that, if you are looking to get away from the crowds, enjoy nature, swim, fish, bird watch, mingle with the locals, meditate, just relax, then this is the location for you.

You also have the chance to learn some Spanish and explore the landscape and appreciate nature's beauty. There are also fruit trees in the neighborhood, and orchards cultivated by the local farmers. The house offers wonderful wide open views of the bay. It seems like a health retreat.

The casa consists of two bedrooms & one bath on the lower floor. A new studio, with a double bed & bath has been added upstairs. You may rent just one or both of the units. It is comfortable for two couples or a small family downstairs, & a couple upstairs. It is available for next winter, so its a good time to rent the whole place. There is a 20% discount off the published price, for four months rental.
